Triangle Greenways Council Board Meeting Minutes

December 2003

December 8, 2003

Prior to the Annual Meeting of Triangle Greenways Council on December 8, 2003, the President, having given notice that a short meeting of the Board may be needed, called the Board members present into a meeting of the Board of Directors. Besides the President, Board members attending were Dan Jewell, Jeff Brewer, Don Belk, Bill Bussey, Dean Knipe, and Bill Hamilton. Also attending were Dan Connelly, Jeff Smith, and Larkin Kirkman. The meeting was at 7:00 p.m., at The Healing Place.

The minutes for the September and October meetings of the Board were approved as submitted.

The Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented. Jeff Brewer pointed out that the balance is actually now less than reported. He has had to pay insurance, which insurance covers volunteers.

Dean Kanipe reported that he has talked with developers of Ellerbee Creek and discussed access from the development to the corridor. They are working on an endowment. He sees no involvement now for the Council, but will bring to the Land Trust Committee if there is a change.

Dean reported also that he had pursued the bike project in Durham, but that there had been only 5 bicycles. He decided that this would not warrant our involvement. There is other potential in Raleigh and he is still in contact with the Durham Police Department.

The Board Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Larkin Kirkman
Secretary
